no one teaches you how to be good at goodbyes how to slip away well how to touch phenomena and let it go how to be with the ache of tasting and gradual dissolve how to hold shapes that graduate from an opening to an abyss
I came here expecting a solution, a class of sort, and ended up with a tapas sized plate of heartfelt colloquy sprinkled with earnest seasonings. I should know by now Kimbra, never bring my expectations to you. I am currently working on a piece that relates to the great vacuum left in the City of Angeles when nearly saintly people like you say goodbye to it. A friend/neighbor of mine has just passed on from her 10 year battle with breast cancer. She was a real Mother Theresa type in that she traveled the world helping less fortunate people and never received a dime for her work, or even an accolade. This vacuum is here once again. When LA loses great people, the Angel City struggles even though many can’t see.
Saying goodbye for me has been burning bridges more often than I like to admit. I now try saying farewell, it is softer and in some small way relieves some of the “ache” and gives light to some of the “abyss” going forward. Thank you for sharing K

Wonderful sentiments, & perfectly phrased, as always. Hope you are well.
