Last days to sign up for my course!
My 4 week course "The Art of Live Performance" begins Feb 10.
This is a final reminder to anyone still thinking about joining the 4 week course I’m starting next week on “The Art of Live Performance”! There are only 5 days left to join and I’m getting really excited to get started and break down the process I’ve been going about for years in order to prepare for live shows. It’s not linear, it’s messy, a major trust-fall and paved with self-doubt as all worthwhile endeavours are but that’s why it’s nice to have some support on the path right?!
We’ve been putting so much care into making this a transformative experience for all who join, so if you've ever wanted an excuse to work on your live show, I hope you'll consider it.
All the information on this live course can be found here https://live.soundfly.com/courses/kimbra but if you have questions about how it works, you can email Ian who's helping make this happen at ian@soundfly.com.
He will happily help you figure it out if it's right for you.
Enrollment closes first thing Monday morning so jump in quickly if you’ve been thinking about it https://live.soundfly.com/courses/kimbra
Don’t forget —- my Substack subscribers on the paid tier get a special code to use which reduces the price (see last post here for that code) and remember there are payment plans you can go for too (after using the code it becomes four payments of $70) which might make it easier for those of you still on the fence about whether to go for it.
It’s a great honour for me to be able to help other artists go deeper into their own art practise. I feel so passionately about it — most of you will remember the first posts I ever did over here which were about my experiments with silence in live performance.
If you’ve recently joined here, I invite you to read the below posts about the show I’m referring to which I played in 2023 — after experiencing extreme burnout on tour. It basically turned my entire value system upside down when it comes to what makes for a memorable live show. I still reflect on this night and get shivers remembering how it felt in that room.
I can’t wait to share my heart for this work because I feel it is so needed for our sense of connection at a time like this. I’ve looked out at crowds at my shows sometimes and genuinely felt like we are having the exact same experience in that moment, witnessing each others story in a sort of symbiosis through music. It does require work to create the right kind of environment for this though. We’ll talk brass tacks stuff and the soul stuff too.
I really look forward to sharing more on all of this and meeting the people that turn up next week. Most of all, I want to help my fellow artists out there find what their thing is on stage… Because only you can do what is unique to you.
Hopefully see you there!
