Oneroa
The children run down the beach with boundless joy
boisterous footprints in the quiet sand
waves froth to their peak then surge and expand
like oil paintings across the shore
The ocean—so constant in her loyalty
so bold in her calling
so pure in her endeavour
so of a single moment
like timeless literature
The moon gives perfect instruction
generative movement
lucid and firm
symbiosis through cosmic agreement
I mirror the sea’s chaos
I recognize her freedom
that deep rhythm hidden in my chest
the terrifying power I have tasted
that stretching mass of memory
and the potential it holds me in
Water coloring painting is not a my best medium, however. Kimbra wins by default.
I think I have done only 20 total paintings, my very last painting was done here in Eugene. I t was a contest of anyone who used any homeless help from places like the Catholic services. It was a painting of a church and a sky filled with black clouds. And people inside the church to stay out of the storm. I won the contest for best painting. Maybe I should stop making videos and present paintings instead.
