Hello to you all,

This is a note to let you know I’m going to be popping up at an upcoming Substack Event here in New York at Generation Records on April 3rd, 7pm EST. It’s called “Nick Hornby’s Listening Party” — and yes I’m referring to the fantastic author Nick Hornby!

Each guest for the evening will present two song selections and a talk a little about them. As you can see some other amazing guests will be joining too. I am already brainstorming my two offerings and they’re gonna be good…

Let’s be honest, doesn’t it sound refreshing to get some new music in your ears curated by the above guests in a real life record store rather than relying on another random Spotify created algorithm playlist? I’m certainly look forward to hearing the picks of the night and why they’re meaningful to each guest. The stories behind why music touches people is sometimes as interesting as the song itself. The memory contains the context in which the song resonated — and we have each have unique ways that music hits us (and anatomically unique ears in which to listen with!)
