Hi, I’m Kimbra. I’m a singer, songwriter and producer from New Zealand.

But before all of that, I just liked to write. Poems mainly but then I started a blog called The Catacombs during the MySpace era. Now I write here on Substack all about the things that interest me. Consciousness, Music, the Christian Mystics, artists that inspire me, voice memo demos, poems and my paintings.

I also write about reckoning with the parts of ourselves that feel displaced. The fragmentation we’re experiencing as a species and the need for a head on collision, confrontation and conversation with ourselves and each other.

This is where I attempt to quell my quenching thirst for community, take a break from the bite-sized, caption-focused life of social media accounts, tell you how I’m really feeling through this particular present worldview I have.

If you’d like to support my work you can do that by clicking below (which gives you deeper access to the archives) but regardless of wether you sign up to be a paid subscriber or not, the invitation to read along is here.

I’m so happy to have you part of the space, thank you. x

I write to unearth what craves a witness in my interior world by going beyond and beneath my music. I share the poems I write, the art I make and the spiritual wells I draw from.
