Thank you for reminding me of this profound music. I truly appreciate your spiritual musings, thank you for sharing that part of you with the wider world.
I listened to the longer version twice while doing some work today. My mind wandered into a cynicism that can often awaken when I’m listening to gospel or gospel like music. I thought about how you, K, can sometimes be very churchy. I also thought this man is homeless and lost so how has he not been failed or in failure. However, while listening I was unknowingly meditating in the sound bath of this chant. After slowly talking with my inner critic, what began to surface were a few very simple things. 1) Like you spoke about, the humility really possessed me. 2) My resistance to religion is not about Jesus. I do believe he walked this earth and was crucified; even though I believe most of scripture is bound is speculation and historical inaccuracy for a hidden yet obvious agenda. 3) Poverty, and all forms of it, are no different than me even though I have never been truly poor, yet. 4) True happiness is unbound by circumstance, we get a limited dose of it, just enough to survive, thrive and repay.

Truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🙏
Kimbra,
I listened to the longer version twice while doing some work today. My mind wandered into a cynicism that can often awaken when I’m listening to gospel or gospel like music. However, while listening I was unknowingly meditating in the sound bath of this chant. After slowly talking with my inner critic, what began to surface were a few very simple things. 1) Like you spoke about, the humility really possessed me. 2) My resistance to religion is not about Jesus. Thank you K for your churchy post today :)
