We are often bombarded with shiny products. Raw and imperfection is the human value of what we love to do. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to that mysterious art
I spent this week finding the most economical Black Friday deals on new music plugins to improve my music productions. It's been so nice using them. I have seen the value of what I was missing in my earlier recordings. Most notable a Pultec EQ and LA 2A. So much so that I have gone back and brushed them off to remaster them using the new plugins. And I started to craft a brand new song as well. Although I'm still getting used to the jarring acoustics in my new recording space...aka my home recording bedroom.
I have used FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cakewalk, Cubase, Reaper, Reason and downloaded Pro Tools at one point. I have also experimented with mobile apps. I haven't used Pro Tools yet despite downloading it. But my go-to DAWs are Ableton Live and Mixcraft Pro Studio for the last few years. I like Mixcraft Pro Studio because U can print out music notation for your songs if U are collaborating. And in version 7 it had an Apogee Pultec EQ plugin. I've had to find EQ alternatives since the current version doesn't have it anymore. But overall, I just love how Mixcraft Pro renders my sound (especially vocals) and I love how Ableton allows me to play my LM-1 and Linn drum samples and instrument plugins easily.
Up through 2012 I used Traction 3, Band in a Box, a number of plug ins. Would do midi arrangement with instrument collections and edit bass and piano to suit.
Two years ago I downloaded Waveform and is not intuitive at all. Am using Ntracks, BinB and some other plug-ins for my current demos.
It's always a joy to slow down and reset and just be a human. 3 baths a day sounds amazing.
Welcome back to Aotearoa. It really is beautiful.
Sometimes good things just take time and you have to sit on it. Give it space to grow into something. Beautiful snippets, thanks Kimbra
I had been listening to "Without Knowing" last week. I had heard it previously and decided to go back to it, for I found it to be quite soothing.

of course, it is never finished, just finished enough to let go.
Like children.

What DAW do you use?
