A Skeeter Davis cover for the broken heart.
Thanks for the memory.
I was a 20yo bloke with all the romantic thinking skills of a rock when I listened to Skeeta sing this on my car radio.
Now 60 years on, I finally understand that the answer really is Love, Actually
Thanks Kimbra. Eerie indeed, looking back from 2023. Coincidentally, the groundbreaking book “Silent Spring” which helped launch the modern environmental movement, was published, also in 1962, by Rachel Carson.

Girl......you really MUST release that "End of the World" demo, it's GLORIOUS✨🙌🌿
I’ve always loved this song. You did a beautiful job singing it.
In different passages , it remindet me of Kim Wilde ...
My heart ❤️, sending you and all of the Earth love
I was 9 when this song came out, so I have been familiar with it for all of my life.
When my sweetheart died 16+ months ago, this was one of the songs that filled my soul.
I actually came home and found Skeeter Davis' version of it to listen to.
...but I couldn't listen to it all the way through until about 3 months after his death.
I loved hearing YOU sing the song.
You have an incredulous voice and it really touched my soul and gave me some peace.
Thank you for your talents that you share with the world!
nice, poignant version, tempo. Nothing like young love lost to wreck you. I think we all remember it well.
Went on a dive into the sound cloud & found this gem cover <3 (another Kimber!) https://soundcloud.com/kimberannie/the-end-of-the-world-skeeter
